I must be a better blogger..... but I still suck

Well, I must be a better blogger then my lovely sister, since I post more then her lately. Haha.... that makes the score like me 1, her 1001.

It's been a busy few months this spring. G had her 3rd birthday, how is that even possible? She's become a very opinionated little princess, must get that from me. She insisted on wearing her princess dress to daycare this week. Was no big deal other then when it was pick up time. According to her preschool teacher, when it was pick up time she announced that "princesses don't pick up". Her dress was changed promptly so she could pick up.

I planted a garden again this year, or at least started to. I'm trying a new location in the yard since it didn't get enough sun last year. I've got potatoes and onions in so far. Planning to put in peppers, corn and pumpkins as well. Who would have thought I enjoy growing stuff so much.

I've also been reading a lot lately. Some of my latest reads and their reviews:
  • "I, Alex Cross" James Patterson..... very good book, sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. But James Patterson is pretty good at doing that to me.
  • "Witch and Wizard" James Patterson..... also a very good book, although the ending left me hanging and I didn't like that part. I hope he hurries with the next one in the series, I don't like it when I have to re-read the book just to know what's going on.
  • "My Horizonal Life" Chelsea Handler..... I loved this book, laughed until I cried. And I thought living vicariously through my friends was fun!

A rather uneventful week

Well, it's been a quiet week, that's a plus. B has his first loose tooth, there is a lot of excitement around that. Since they are with their Dad this weekend, I hope he doesn't loose it, I want him to loose it at home. I know, who cares.
G's excitement is that she is now officially potty trained. She only needs pull ups when she sleeps and when we go somewhere. Little stinker is very proud of the panties, guess I'll have to go buy some more, I think my washer eats them.
Last weekend we had a nice time in SF with the fam at a Stampede hockey game. It was B's first big hockey game. I'd like to say he was really into the game, but I think the truth is that he pretty excited about just being there. He got to skate with the players and get autographs afterwards, lots of fun. The weekend was cut short by an unexpected snow storm. I would have liked to hang out in SF longer, but was glad I didn't.
Not much else to report here. Possibly a road trip this weekend, how exciting is my life.... oh wait, it's not.
Oh and to my friends in Cali, my deepest sympathies about Charles, we touched so many lives.

My very own hockey star

Yep it's true.... B had his very first hockey game tonight. It was very impressive, see the pics. I'd like to give you a play by play but there wasn't actually much play. Lets see what I can do. The coach put the puck down, somewhere between 2 and 4 boys swug at it, most missed the puck and landed on their butts. The puck slide to the left, everyone followed. One boy fell, then another and another. One made it to the puck and hit it in no particular direction, then fell down. Everyone got back up and headed in the direction the puck was last seen, someone tripped over the puck moving it a different direction, more people fell. That's pretty much the general idea of the whole game. I think one goal was made, but no one can be sure who actually made it. All in all it was very entertaining. I'm very proud of my big man, he did very well and had fun.

So.... lets try this again

Alrighty, I've proven I'm a terrible blogger, but lets try this again. Maybe it's because there really isn't anything exciting going on in my life, or at least nothing I'd admit to.

B had his 6th birthday last week. I can not believe he is 6. Feels like yesterday I was laboring watching Shrek. He spent most of his birthday weekend out of town with his Dad, but I did get to have him for the evening of his birthday. He got lots of great gifts, that boy is truely spoiled. However, it seems that I'm the only one that though far enough ahead to go to the dollar store and grab something for G. Thank you to my Mom for that brilliant thought! I broke down and bought B a small aquarium and a couple of goldfish for his birthday. Ever since I killed his betta last summer, he's been bugging me for a fish. At least this way I don't have to clean the water every week. One of the fish only managed to last 2 days, we got to have a burial at sea. If I keep killing these $2 fish, this could turn out to be an expensive hobbie.

I've been woking like crazy since I got a wok for Christmas.... who knew, I can actually cook.
I'm gonna try and stick notes on here as I think of them.... if anyone reads it, that's another story.
